"Pour At 4" Wine Sampling Hosted by Debbie Kirch, CSW
Debbie's feature wine this evening is iGreco Cata Gaglioppo from Calabria, Italy. This small family, certified organic farm is carving quite a large name for themselves as producers of high quality Calabrian wines - the much coveted three red glasses from Gambero Rosso was awarded to one of their reds this year being testimony to this! Our feature wine showcases the Gaglioppo red grape varietal native to Calabria. "A fleshier, silkier example of the usually heavy Gaglioppo variety, Catà is the perfect introduction to Calabrian wines. Six months in barrique gives a velvety roundness to the wine and a burst of spicy red fruits and chocolate notes come through on the palate and linger on the finish."
