Give yourself a gift the weekend before Christmas and come by Chain Bridge Cellars to sample some truly stunning, very small production, holiday treats. We’ll be introducing you to the fabulous white Burgundies of Chassagne-Montrachet’s legendary Dom Guy Amiot and pouring two very different all-American reds. Join us from 3-7pm on Friday and noon-4pm on Saturday to try:
Dom Guy Amiot Bouzeron Les Les Bouillottes 2017 - A gloriously creamy, rich and ripe take on Burgundy's other white grape: Aligote. Outshines most $30-$40 Burgundy Chardonnay from as little as $21.98
Dom Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Vergers 2017 - Zesty, pure, precise Chardonnay from the cooler side of Chassagne that simply explodes with energy, verve and cut.
Dom Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Champgains 2017 - A site that gives richer, even opulent, Chardonnay is on full display here in a wine of creamy texture and deep, rich, fruit.
Dom Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Caillerets 2017 - From 70 year-old vines in Chassagne's best 1er Cru, this drinks very "Grand Cru" with deep fruit and tons of stony minerality.
Piedrasassi Syrah Bien Nacido 2016 - NOT the fat, thick, Syrah you might expect from California, this showcases purity, elegance, and a touch of Northern Rhone style in a wine perfectly ripe and satisfying at just 13.0% alcohol. A beauty.
Crane Assembly El Coco Proprietary Red 2017 - Dave Phinney of Orin Swift and Prisoner fame brings us this wine from one of the oldest producing sites in Napa. Normally a 95 point Zinfandel blend, in 2017 it's mainly Petit Sirah and a revelation of spiced dark fruit and a firm, powerful, finish.
As always, we’ll have some treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and best pricing available on a mix/match basis during the tastings. Whether you’re taking a break from shopping or finishing it up, a great opportunity to enjoy world-class wine treats this weekend!
