Join Margaux Burgess, sommelier and Canada's only Certified Barossa Educator, for this 3-hour certification course on Barossa wines.

Barossa is one of Australia’s most historic and prominent wine regions. With a rich history dating back to 1840s, Barossa is the proud home of a community of long-established wine families as well as younger artisan and boutique producers. Barossa is internationally famous for its Shiraz, but with its diversity of soils, climate and topography and some of the world’s oldest grapevines - Barossa is a region worth exploring in depth.

This 3-hour course is designed for enthusiastic wine drinkers, wine trade, media and educators, and will give students a understanding of Barossa through:

  • an overview of Barossa's history, viticulture, winemaking, and wine styles; and
  • sampling and discussion of 10+ wines covering all major wine styles of Barossa

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Level 1: Barossa Enthusiast Certification from the Barossa Grape & Wine Association.
