TAPS Fish House & Brewery in Irvine invites you to join Master Sommeliers Fred Dame and Michael Jordan for the second Battle of the Masters Sommelier vs Sommelier Dinner on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a five-course menu with each course paired with two wines – a Paso Robles selection picked by Dame and an Sonoma wine chosen by Jordan. Guests will vote for their favorite after each course, leaving one cumulative winner at the end of dinner. The faceoff commences with lobster, king crab and chilled shrimp salad with 2018 Daou Sauvignon Blanc vs. 2017 Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc; followed by grilled monkfish with smoked sea scallops with 2017 Daou Reserve Chardonnay vs. 2017 Hartford Court Chardonnay. Next, enjoy lamb neck carrot agnolotti with 2016 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon vs. 2016 Stonestreet Estate Cabernet Sauvignon; and balsamic charred Waygu hanger steak with 2017 Doau Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon vs. 2014 Anakota Cabernet Sauvignon. Prior to announcing the evening’s Master Somm winner, indulge in cherry berry pavlova cake with 2016 Daou Soul of a Lion vs. Vérité La Muse.
