Everyone would like to be mortgage free, and you can help Rice's Hotel / Hughlett's Tavern get rid of theirs by eating BBQ.
The menu includes pulled pork, sausage and BBQ chicken, made by the Tavern's own BBQ Master, Sid Mace, plus appetizers, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, desserts and soft drinks. Beer and wine sold separately.
This special event will take place outside on the "Tavern Green", located behind the Tavern. Popular Richmond band, "The Articles," will provide a party atmosphere, while you eat and drink under the "big-top" tent as the sun goes down.
A local historic landmark since the late 1700's, Rice's Hotel / Hughlett's Tavern is located at 73 Monument Place in Heathsville, just off Route 360 behind the old Northumberland Courthouse.
Tickets are available at the Tavern's Gift Shoppe or on-line. The Gift Shoppe and Tavern Cafe´ are open Thursday thru Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm. To purchase on-line, visit www.rhhtfoundationinc.org. All proceeds go to help pay off the Tavern mortgage.
