Les Doss is coming to visit and talk about the wines of his latest venture, Terre Rouge and Easton Wines. Les is a WSET Level 3 Somm, famed Asheville, NC restaurateur and natural wine pioneer who has joined Rhone Ranger legend Bill Easton's team at the Sierra Foothills AVA Terre Rouge/Easton Wineries.
In 2016 Bill was awarded only the fourth Rhone Rangers lifetime achievement. to recognize contributions to the American Rhone wine movement, joining the legends behind Qupe, Bonny Doon, and Tablas Creek.
The wines are crafted from varieties that have traditionally worked the best in Amador County and the Sierra Foothills: ancient and old-vine Zinfandel, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. Under the Easton label we also bottle small selections of varietals new to the Sierra Foothills: Grenache Blanc, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. All of the wines are sustainably produced at high elevation sites up to 3200’ contribute to their complexity.
