On Saturday, March 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Phil “the Grill” Johnson, pitmaster and owner of Trapp Haus BBQ — downtown Phoenix’s newest BBQ restaurant — and Sterling Smith, founder and owner of Loot N’ Booty BBQ, a local line of rubs and sauces sold internationally, come together to teach their knowledge of cooking on a Green Mountain Grill smoker in a casual and fun atmosphere. Both longtime competitors on the Kansas City Barbeque Society circuit, who have racked up hundreds of awards between them, Johnson and Smith will share expert tips for using a Green Mountain Grill smoker as they showcase six barbeque-inspired recipes for guests to enjoy including:
- Pork Belly Biscuit with Strawberry Jam
- Reverse Seared Tri-tip Caprese on Grilled Naan Bread
- Smoked Short Rib Taco
- Honey Jalapeno Cole Slaw
- Rack of Lamb with Garlic Herb Butter
- Bread Pudding with Vanilla Caramel Sauce
