As the son and the daughter of fieldworkers, Macario Montoya and Griselda Ceja make their Campesino wine in homage to all campesinos whose journeys began with dreams and a search for new possibilities. The nobility of this hopeful quest is not diminished by the humility of their occupation. On the contrary, more than just laborers, these men and women are the keepers of the vine. They work the earth with dignity and care.

Macario and Griselda are committed to not forgetting that every bottle of wine is indebted to the sacrifices of campesinos;  “As we enjoy the fruits of their labor let us give thanks for their hard work and dedication”.

Campesino Cellars produces Rhone style wines from select single vineyards in California. Their wines are not only a reflection of those who tend the vineyards, but they also express the qualities inherited from their site specific locations.

Griselda and Macario’s appreciation for Rhone wines began while visiting the Rhone wine region in southern France. As Macario is fond of saying, "The Rhone is where I fell in love with wine and my wife."

We'll pair each wine with "curated" bites to bring out the nuances in the wine.  Come enjoy a delicious and educational evening while engaging with fellow wine lovers at a private home in San Francisco - a true Salon experience! Must be 21+
