For more than 100 years, the Vacca family has run the Cantina Del Pino estate in Barbaresco. Originally selected by Domizio Cavazza (the director of the Royal Enological School in Alba from 1888-1913) as his residence, the Ovello estate was the first to make wine from Nebbiolo in Barbaresco, showing the world the great potential of the area. Today, Renato Vacca carries on the tradition while maintaining an entirely family managed winery, producing wines from vineyards located exclusively in the Barbaresco territory, including the famed Ovello, Gallina and Albesani cru vineyards. Join us in welcoming Renato to the SFWTC and taste some of his family's beautiful crus from the Piedmont.
