Perhaps the most treasured and sought-after French wines are those from Burgundy, a.k.a ‘Bourgogne’. They provoke our curiosity and acquisitiveness for their often transcendent quality and their elusiveness. Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the production of many wines is tiny, given the small vineyard holdings of most producers. Over the centuries, vignerons have precisely delineated their terroir, down to the row. Additionally, recent vintages have given unusually small yields due to hail and other natural threats. We will present an overview of the region, covering the subject with both white and red wines, from Chablis in the North to the Mâconnais to the South, stopping in the Cote d’Or along the way.  We’ll include visits to Leroy, Louis Jadot, Blain-Gagnard, Pierre Guillemot, Château Fuissé and much more. As an additional treat, we’ll be joined by Plum’s First Lady of Wine, the ever-delightful Madeline Triffon MS!
