It's so hard to nail this importer down as his beard alone is known in parts of the world to cure loneliness, makes most men cry at the sight of it and has even had a motion picture written about it...I can't tell you which one because of the contract I signed but I assure you...EPIC!
A few weeks ago Christian and I were sitting out on his deck overlooking the sound and we decided that it was time for a turkey tasting. He grabbed a gang-load of wines and started pulling corks. Out of the twenty or so wines we tasted...these are the five wines we decided on. Every wine for this taste is curated for something you'll find on your Thanksgiving Day table. This does not include uncle Fred who always passes out drunk before the jello even arrives.
Let's talk some turkey killers!
2017 Chateau de Fontenille Blanc - Light gold in color, teeming with enticing aromas of citrus fruit and white peaches, Château de Fontenille Entre Deux Mers displays wonderful acidity and freshness on the palate coupled with exotic fruit and citrus flavors.
2017 Chateau Peyrat Graves Blanc - Straw and green reflections with a very mineral nose. Dominated by Sémillon, the wine displays toasted almonds, yellow flowers, quince and mango.
2015 Chateau Fourcas-Borie Listrac-Medoc - Deep purple in appearance with defined aromas of mocha with black cherry and currant fruit. Juicy on the palate with plum-like texture and dark, ripe fruits underscored by lots of spice.
2012 Segla Margaux - Ségla is the second wine of the prestigious Château Rauzan Ségla. Deep ruby in apperance, Segla delivers aromas of blueberry and vanilla on the nose. On the palate it is medium bodied with silky tannins.
2011 La Fleur d'Or Sauternes -Has an elegant yellow appearance with aromas of candied apricot, peach, mango along side toasty hints. The palate has a vivacious attack with a remarkable balance between freshness and botrytis.
Good luck bird!
