The Louis M. Martini winery first made Napa Cab in 1933, immediately post Prohibition! Louis Martini himself had an essential role in crafting Napa and Sonoma valleys as world class wine regions. Mike Martini still runs the operation, under the current ownership of the Gallos, close family friends. Martini is sole owner of the extraordinary Monte Rosso Vineyard on Sonoma’s Moon Mountain, first planted in 1890. Michael Eddy, Director of Winemaking, will personally lead us through 6 Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings from 2014, 2015 & 2016: Alexander Valley and Napa cuvées, two vintages of Monte Rosso, and “Lot 1”, a top Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from different AVAs; annual production is a miniscule 400 to 1,000 cases.
