This fall, Eataly is celebrating Barolo, the “King of Wines,” with Fontanafredda for Barolo Weeks! For one night only, join Alberto Frea, export manager and brand ambassador of Fontanafredda, for a vertical tasting of Barolo wines paired with traditional dishes of Piemonte in northern Italy.
This dinner features five wines by Fontanafredda and four traditional, paired dishes from Piemonte prepared by Eataly's expert chefs.
A renowned producer of Barolo, the “king of wines,” Fontanafredda has been noble since the start. The winery was founded in 1858 by Count Emanuele Alberto di Mirafiori on the hunting grounds of his father, King Vittorio Emanuele II. The first king of Italy, Emmanuele was known for his bravery — and for his fondness for wine. In 2017, Fontanafredda was named the European Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast.
