Sherry Week! - ¿Por qué no? at High Treason

Come join Abby & Sean Norton (Certified Sherry Educator) of ¿Por qué no? for Sherry Week!

We’re going big for #SherryWeek with our most unique and rarest line up ever!

Tickets are $40 and include a (5) Sherry Tasting Flight, Food Pairing, & Education Materials.

Attendees will learn about the History of the Sherry Region, Vineyards & Grapes, Ageing Methods via the Solera System, & Influence of the Bodega while tasting and discussing these very unique Sherry wines:

* Hidalgo Pastrana Manzanilla Pasada is a single-vineyard sherry from the Finca Pastrana. It is 10-12 years in average age and bottled en rama.

* Hidalgo La Gitana En Rama Manzanilla is bottled without cold stabilization or filtration. With 8 years average aging in oak casks, the wine exhibits a marine fragrance, complex and sharp aromas, with characteristics of biological aging: dried fruit, yeast, old wood, herbs and salty/sea overtones.

* El Maestro Sierra Palo Cortado is sourced from 4 barrels of Palo Cortado of an unknown age, the solera is estimated to be over 70 years old. From just 200 half bottles for the U.S. in 2015.

* Fernando de Castilla Amontillado "Antique" - The solera of the Antique Fino is used to feed the third criadera of Antique Amontillado, which averages more than 20 years. After over 5 years of biological aging, the wine is fortified to 19 degrees and undergoes oxidative aging in the traditional soleras and criaderas system. The wine is bottled only once a year, in the winter, with the cold weather acting as a natural clarifier so very little filtration is needed.

* Bodegas Tradición Oloroso VORS is a rare wine with 45 years in average age and annual production of only 5,000 hand numbered bottles. The wine is very versatile wine and can be drunk as an aperitif with mature cheeses or ham. It is also a good accompaniment to small and big game or a mild cigar.

*Limited to 12 attendees
*Tickets are non-refundable, but transferable
