The next Words and Wine – a Monthly Readers and Writers Social -- will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Jubilee Circle, 2627 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC, 29205.

Words and Wine is free and open to the public.

Enjoy wine and light refreshments, music by Ken Baldwin and Igo Agafonov, a presentation by one of the featured authors, and a book signing by all participating authors. Books will be available for purchase and personally signed by the author.

A.J. Brown will be the presenting for September. Brown is a southern-born writer who tells emotionally charged, character driven stories that often delve into the dark parts of the human psyche. Though he writes mostly darker stories, he does so without unnecessary gore or coarse language. More than 200 of his stories have been published in various online and print publications. He writes in a conversational style that draws the reader in and holds their attention. His characters are average people with average lives who are layered with memories and emotions and are fallible, just like anyone else. He draws inspiration from every day events and conversations. The characters of his stories are drawn from people he has met or seen during his life. Some of the best stories are inspired by his two children.

You can purchase A.J.’s newest novel, Dredging Up Memories and his collection, A Stitch of Madness (both released by Stitched Smile Publications in January, 2016), or either of his other short story collections—Along the Splintered Path and Southern Bones; his novel Cory’s Way, as well as his collaborative effort with M.F. Wahl, All We See is the End/The End is All We See on September 18 at Words and Wine.

Others featured authors in September will be John Sherrer, Non-fiction/Director of Cultural Resources at Historic Columbia; Suzy Marie Inman, Children’s Author; Stephanie Suell, Author of Poetry and Artist.
