Sonoma County is home to over 350 award-winning wineries and has amazing geographic, climatic and varietal diversity that includes something for everyone. Sonoma wineries include small, family operated wineries to internationally recognized wineries. This course includes the exploration of the amazing diversity of Napa’s neighbor toward the coast. This dynamic course will provide students with the background necessary to understand its distinction and reputation in the national wine market. With a large number of AVAs and more pending, appreciating, identifying, and understanding Sonoma County’s impact on wine is essential to your knowledge base. The course includes a guided tasting of 6-8 wines from the region; typically including: Green Valley Brut, Carneros and Russian River Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Dry Creek and Rockpile Zinfandel and Alexander Valley and Knights Valley Cabernet. While you are highly encouraged to register for the entire program, you may also choose to register for this as a single class as well.
