We invite you to join us on Saturday, November 18th at 6 p.m. to experience French bistro dining at Chez Voluptuous. French bistro cuisine is best characterized as simple food, beautifully cooked and presented. And diners are typically seated cheek-to-jowl in a bustling, somewhat noisy atmosphere, the aroma of good coffee and the clinking of wine glasses in the background. 
To start, enjoy two classic French bistro appetizers: savory Alsatian Bacon and Onion Tarte and a lovely, silky chicken liver paté prepared with plenty of butter, Marsala and showered in chopped pistachios. These delectable appetizers are enhanced by your cocktail, the very American French Martini, a potent concoction of vodka, raspberry liqueur and pineapple juice.
Come to the table and enjoy a passed community salad--a staple of bistro fare--of simple green leaf lettuce, thinly sliced shallots, toasted walnuts and a house-made Dijon vinaigrette. Crumbled Roquefort will be available for bleu cheese lovers.
True to Paris bistro tradition, the main course is a deeply flavorful Boeuf Bourguignon: tender chunks of seared beef, mushrooms, pearl onions and carrots nestled in a rich Cognac and red wine-infused gravy and served on a thick, grilled garlicky crouton. Warm crusty bread and butter will also be available. Suggested wine pairing: a Côtes du Rhône or an Old World Pinot Noir, spare and elegant, to counter the richness of the beef.
Our bistro dessert is classic Tarte aux Pommes, French apple tart with a layer of vanilla pastry cream between the apples and the buttery crust. Enjoy a bottomless cup of Community Coffee or hot tea, finish the last of your wine and ask for an after-dinner drink--we recommend one of the many available pastis, so very French-ish.
