Undecided about what to pour this Thanksgiving? Then come on down anytime from 5:00 on on Friday, November 17 or from 4:30 on Saturday, November 18 or Sunday, November 19 for a tasting of some of our favorite "under the radar" wines to pair with your Thanksgiving feast. We're serving generous 3 to 4 ounce tasting pours of five different wines paired with a 10-course tasting menu.

We know that no one wants to eat roast turkey a couple of days before Thanksgiving, so we designed a unique menu that replicates the flavors of Thanksgiving without actually serving traditional Thanksgiving fare. It should give you a great idea of which wines you'll like best to pair with your own feast as all of the bottles served will be available for purchase to take home.

Cost is a mere fifty-nine-fifty for everything including all five wines and the entire 10-course "Flavors of Thanksgiving" tasting menu. Hope you can join us! Here's the line-up. Wine notes and bottle prices are at the end of this announcement if you're interested.

Wine Vault & Bistro is located in the heart of San Diego between Little Italy and Old Town at 3731-A India Street on the upstairs terrace. Follow the black handrail up the stairs from the sidewalk to our front door. Our phone number is (619) 295-3939.

Valet parking is available for $8.00. The drop-off point is two doors south of our entrance in front of Shakespeare Pub at the corner of India and Winder. On-street parking is also usually available within a 3-block radius. Remember that it’s OK to park in yellow commercial zones on Sunday and that meters are also not enforced. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always LOTS OF PARKING on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's TONS OF PARKING less than three blocks away!

2015 Gérard Bertrand "Crémant de Limoux" Brut Rosé ~ $14
(France) Winemaker's Notes: 70% Chardonnay, 15% Chenin Blanc + 15% Pinot Noir. Chardonnay is the key ingredient in this blend, contributing to the Crémant's well-balanced texture and providing the delicate bubbles. Chenin Blanc contributes vivacity and, in time, will reveal exceptional richness. Pinot Noir supplies the exceptional color. Boasts a beautiful, salmon-pink robe with glimmering reflections. Delicate bubbles and an extraordinary vivacity on the palate, with a rich, indulgent texture. A complex bouquet with long-lasting aromas of strawberry and rasberry, backed with hints of toasted bread.

2016 Paul Hobbs "Crossbarn" Chardonnay ~ $23
(Sonoma Coast) Winemaker's Notes: Daffodil yellow with aromas of Bartlett pear, yellow peach, and citrus/yellow flowers. On the palate, there are flavors of juicy pink lady apple, fresh guava, and apricot. The texture is creamy, energetic, long and salivating.

2015 J Vineyards Pinot Noir ~ $17
(California) Winemaker's Notes: Aromatic notes of exotic spice, cherry preserves and black tea. The palate is plush, jammy and ripe with flavors of spicy black pepper, cola and plum. Enjoy this wine with roasted leg of lamb with a balsamic-fig reduction or cranberry-glazed roast turkey breast with creamy mushroom risotto.

2015 Justin Cabernet Sauvignon ~ $23
(Paso Robles) Winemakers Notes: Dark purple ruby core, slightly lighter at the rim showing light staining on the glass. Aromatic with bright ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, baking spice, savory dried autumn leaves, subtle violet floral notes with a hint of caramelized barrel sweetness. Dry, moderate plus bodied, with ripe red and black cherry, and blackcurrant fruit joined by vanilla and cinnamon spice notes on the entry. The mid-palate is fresh with sustained ripe fruit, toasty oak notes and softly textured tannins. The finish is moderately long with notes of cherry candy and blackcurrant fruit matched with subtle classic Cabernet savory elements. A great all-around choice for a wide range of food pairings from a simple cheese and charcuterie plate or a burger to vegetable lasagna, or even a prime rib. If you are looking for a quality, all-purpose red wine, this is it!

2013 Margerum "Late Harvest" Sauvignon Blanc ~ $19
(Santa Barbara County) Winemaker's Notes: Nose of juicy fruit, honey and ripe melon. Pleasantly sweet yet not cloying attack of more ripe fruit nicely balanced with rich Meyer lemon acidity in the evolution and long finish. Will age gracefully through 2020 developing nectar-like aromatics and becoming richer and even more honeyed. A well balanced dessert wine that pairs well with fruit salad, custardy desserts like creme brulee, or salty cheeses.
