Wine’s Best Friend: NY
Bright reds and
versatile whites, from Italy and beyond, set the stage for a parade of pies
delivered piping-hot-fresh from favorite Greenwich Village pizzerias.
Food-wine synergy beckons. Pepperoni?
Barbera sounds good. Then again, so does Bordeaux. How about wild
mushroom and Taleggio... or white pizza with fresh ricotta, mozzarella,
spinach and basil? Lambrusco anyone? Don’t count out Malbe....
Kick the tires on dozens
of possible combinations, proving beyond edible doubt that New York pizza is always ready to show
global wines a good time in the city.
Seventeen wines on tap range from bubbly Lambrusco and Prosecco to off-dry Riesling to Rioja and Zweigelt. For a twist, the pizzas will be served blind...and we'll rate them on a (tongue-in-cheek) 100-point scale.
Must be 21 to attend. More NY Wine Salon events on May 5 (wine by style at Kenneth Cole midton), May 23 (natural wine) & June 21 (summer wine).
