"wines U should try!"

Meet our Special Mystery Guest Pourer.

This will be one of the most interesting tastings ever at Wine Gallery.
All new wines!

The guest pourer is an exclusive importer. He is very knowledgeable of the wines and regions he imports from. During the tasting he will explain the terroir and nuances that make each wine so unique and interesting.

"Our wines will be an eclectic mix that will take you on an interesting journey. They will all be very "food friendly" and will be ones you might enjoy opening every night.

There are also already enough "premium" wines in the world (mainly in terms of a premium price!) and I also will not select wines unless I believe they are a great value relative to their quality."

Wine Line Up and Tasting Notes from the Importer

Ziereisen (Baden) Pinot Noir "Tschuppen" 2014
There are initial aromas of cherries, plums, and cedar which are then perfectly complemented by flavors of dark cherries and chocolate. The full flavors are then charmingly balanced by a medium to light mouthfeel but which are framed by very nice tannins and good acidity. This wine has been very deftly matured for two years in used oak barrels.

Georg Mosbacher (Pfalz) Cuvee "R" Pinot Noir 2015
German Pinot Noirs (or Spatburgunders in German) are grossly underappreciated in my opinion and so I also couldn't resist choosing this delightful Mosbacher Pinot Noir. There is a very nice initial entry with aromas of cherries, plums, and roses that then evolves into flavors of cherries and cedar. This is medium bodied with good balance but with a much "weightier" overall perception from the combination of rich tannins and perfect acidity.

Philipp Kuhn (Pfalz) Spatburgunder "Tradition" Trocken 2015
There are very interesting aromas of soy and sesame which then evolve into flavors of mild cherries and plums. That maybe sounds a bit "mild" overall but this wine then has a very mineral rich structure that is very refreshing. There is a medium but saturated mouthfeel along with perfect balance and sweet tannins.

Corvers-Kauter (Rheingau) Rheingau Pinot Noir 2016
Aromas of mocha, cocoa, and dark cherries evolve into flavors of cherries and dark plums along with a hint of cola. This has a perfectly balanced medium mouthfeel and complex tannins which add to the flavors.

"The best attribute of the wines I have chosen, however, are that most of the producers are essentially making wines for themselves! They know what flavor profiles go well with food and effectively make wine that they would be happy to drink every night - and that is the best recommendation for a wine that I can think about."
