Carmeneres from Chile
Wednesday, January 3rd
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
Chile has been known for their Carmenere for some time now. As Malbec is for Argentina, Carmenere is a signature grape for Chile. In the early days the Chileans often mistook the grape for Merlot. DNA tests set them straight. The grape, originally from Bordeaux has found a welcome home in Chile where, unlike in Bordeaux, it is produced as a single varietal.
Chile produces some of the best wine values in the world.
They are also gaining a good reputation for most of the internationally popular varietals.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
