Virtual Tasting Premier Host
Dry Lambrusco is a sophisticated, delicious phenomenon, coming to us from the heart of Emilia-Romagna in north central Italy, a culinary epicenter. We’ll taste 3 very different cuvées: Lambrusco di Sorbara “La Piria” (delicate, cleansing rosé), “Radice” (methode ancestral rosé, bottle fermented) and Lambrusco dell’ Emilia “Solco” (exceptional rich red). All are complex, dry, and gently sparkling with very attractive, intriguing flavors. And, we have the great pleasure of welcoming winegrower Alberto “Paltro” Paltrinieri, who’s dedicated his life to Lambrusco and its native grape varieties. Working alongside his wife Barbara on their 15 hectares near the town of Sorbara, Paltro is at the forefront of a Lambrusco Renaissance, pushing way beyond common quality standards. We strongly recommend a regional “nosh” to bring out the best of these very stylish wines – Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto, and Balsamic Vinegar – all made in Lambrusco’s home province of Emilia Romagna! Add in a chunk of crusty bread and your favorite olives, and you’re set.
