Wineskipping (Elissa McQuaid) is hosting HALL Wines' wine educators to lead us on a tasting tour of 4 exceptional wines! HALL is known for their Cabernet Sauvignon's so we've selected 4 of them to discuss in this event.
No purchase is necessary but you will enjoy the event more if you are able to join with one or more of the wines we'll be discussing. Read on and visit my website to have the opportunity to purchase the wines for the tasting (deadline Sep 21).
HALL produces award-winning Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, available to taste and purchase at the winery and online only. The HALL St. Helena Winery was the first LEED® Gold Certified Winery in the State of California in 2009 and earned another LEED® Gold certification for its high-tech production facility and Tasting Room in 2014, making HALL a leader in green efficiencies. HALL’s 2008 ‘Kathryn Hall’ Cabernet earned the #2 spot in Wine Spectator’s “Top 100.” Two other bottlings, the ‘Exzellenz’ and ‘Rainin Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignons have garnered five 100-point ratings to date.
We will be tasting through the following wines together:
1) 2016 HALL Ellies Cabernet Sauvignon 91-94pts VM $85 (Ellies has a soft and velvety mouth feel with plenty of fruit)
2) 2016 HALL 1873 Cabernet Sauvignon 96pts IWR $90 (With 100% Cab Sauv the 1873 has great bold flavors that include lots of black fruit and pepper)
3) 2016 HALL Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 97pts WA $185 (10% Merlot to soften the tannins in this Cab, it has a lovely velvety texture and big fruit)
4) 2016 HALL Jack's Masterpiece Cabernet Sauvignon 98pts JD $150 (Jack's is a big bold spicy and tannic wine for big cab lovers)
