We are introducing our 2019 Carbonique, which is a carbonic-maceration version of 100% Cab Franc and compared and contrasted with our newly released 2017 barrel-fermented/aged 100% Cabernet Franc (recently released to the Imbibers Club). There are some common characteristics, but these are two very different styles of wine that bring us smiles and giddiness.

But wait, there’s more! What goes with Franc? Frankfurters, of course!


We will come to you “live from the Buttonwood tasting room garden”. The event will be moderated by Matt Kettmann, Editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine and the Santa Barbara Independent, who will be doing double duty as Grillmeister for the “furters”.


The event will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 1:00 p.m., assuming the internet gods are with us that day. Prior to that, we invite you to:

·     Order the wine! You’ll get one bottle each of 2019 Carbonique and 2017 Cabernet Franc for $50, and if you’re an Imbiber, your 20% discount will also appl. Shipping is only $10 for the duo.*

·    Head to your local butcher or grocer and pick up some of your favorite dogs, franks, wursts or sausages that you think will pair well with the Francs.

·    On August 15th, fire up that grill!

·    Taste along with us as Brett and Karen discuss the vintages, the wines and how they are so differently crafted, and are asked the hard questions by Matt.

·    Join in the discussion about the wines and how the Francs pair with the Franks (vegan hotdogs??) Expect to also have a lively discussion about condiments; do any pair with the wine?
