Carmenere, The Lost Grape Of Bordeaux

This week, we will sample a grape that has its heritage in Bordeaux, but has taken deeper roots in Chile. Carmenere can be polarizing as it often features notes of pyrazine (green pepper) which some people may find offensive. Not all examples of Carmenere feature this flavor and it can be a very pleasant wine! We will sample two examples from Chile and one from Veneto in northern Italy. Join us as we sample this off-the-beaten-path varietal.
