Join us for our a one-of-a-kind sip & stroll with Wine Stations in the Aquarium Exhibit, 2nd floor & our beautiful Nautilus Ballroom. A wine station will also be located at our Shark Voyage Train Ride so you can ride and learn about sharks & our amazing Sawfish.

CONSERVATION - WHY SIPPIN' WITH SAWFISH?

During our sip and stroll - guests will have the opportunity to learn more about Sawfish and conservation from our partners – the Sawfish Conservation Society and Havenworth Coastal Conservation. Sawfish swag and t-shirts will be available to help raise donations and awareness for this species. Join us on our Shark Voyage Train Ride and learn more about our conservation efforts with our Sawfish and sharks.

The Downtown Aquarium is home to a rare female largetooth sawfish – a critically endangered species.

• Researchers believe that sawfish have become locally extinct in at least 20 countries, including the United States, where the largetooth sawfish hasn’t been seen in the wild since 1961.

• Largetooth sawfish can grow up to 20 feet in length and are among the largest fish in the ocean.

• Sawfish are large rays with long, saw-like snouts, called rostrums, that are used to find and stun prey in murky coastal water.

• All 5 sawfish species are endangered or critically endangered.
