Join us at Josephine for a wine tasting and class centered around the winemakers who participated in the French resistance during WWII!

Wine has always been regarded as one of France's great treasures, so when Nazi Germany invaded, Hitler was keen on pillaging the cellars across the country. What he may not have expected was the community of wine professionals both in France and in Germany who would risk life and limb to protect what they believed to be the greatest wines in the world. The stories of these winemakers and wine dealers are told in the thrilling book Wine and War by Don & Petie Kladstrup.

We held a book club wine tasting on this book last winter at Planet Wine, that was wildly popular. So popular, that we decided to hold a wine class and tasting at Josephine inspired by this book featuring some of the most influential producers who fought in the resistance during WWII Nazi occupation.

Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will discuss the French resistance of WWII and the role wine played in it while we taste six French wines from wineries that took an active part in that resistance with Wine Director, Erin Dudley, at Josephine!

Included with your ticket:

  • Seated wine class with certified sommelier and Neighborhood Restaurant Group Wine Director, Erin Dudley CSW
  • Tasting of six fine French wines
  • Small serving of artisanal cheese and accoutrement
