Greg is known throughout the wine world as a “vine whisperer,” “cellar magician,” and tireless coaxer and protector of his handcrafted wines. He’s a total wine rock star… “he’s the guy you want to have a glass of wine with”!

A little history about Greg: While earning his master’s in food science at the University of California at Davis, Greg became captivated with wine, its mouthfeel, taste and texture, especially pinot noir and chardonnay from Burgundy, which has taken him on a wonderful wine world journey. His first position was at Napa’s Beaulieu Vineyard under the mentorship of Andre Tchelistcheff, who was considered the “Godfather” of California winemakers. Throughout the past quarter of a century, Greg has had a gold label career… he started the La Crema and Hartford Court wines for Kendall Jackson, he also launched the Flower’s brand too! Additionally, he created Tandem Wines and his own label La Follette Wines, and now, he’s presiding over Marchelle Wines, which he co-founded with his partner.

He’s so respected in the wine community that he is the only American ever to be invited to educate Burgundy winemakers how to make Burgundian wine. And he continues to work with top wine growers and fellow winemakers throughout California, Oregon, Europe, South America, and Australia.
