Local Event
Located in the heart of the Langhe hills, at the top of the village of Castiglione Falletto, the Vietti wine cellar was founded in the late 1800's by Carlo Vietti, and could lay claim to being the oldest continuously operating winery in Barolo. With the most highly prized crus spread over all eleven communes in Barolo, Vietti is also the largest viticultural landholder in Barolo.
A turning point came in the 1960's when Luciana Vietti married winemaker and art connoisseur Alfredo Currado, whose innovations included the production of one of the first Barolo crus (Rocche di Castiglione - 1961), through the single-varietal vinification of Arneis (1967) to the invention of Artist Labels (1974) which made him both symbol and architect of some of the most significant revolutions in Piemonte wine.
This legacy is now taken up by Luca Currado-Vietti (Luciana and Alfredo’s son) and his wife Elena, who have contributed to the modern day success of the Vietti brand, which is now universally recognized as being one of the very finest Italian wine labels. Luca and Elena continue to strive for the greatest quality whilst embracing the signature Vietti innovation and experimentation. Join Proprietor of the Estate, Elena Currado-Vietti and regional manager for Dalla Terra Wines as they lead us through the wines alongside a special menu crafted by Chef de Cuisine Roman Garcia.
