Forman Vineyards is one of the great “sleeper values” among the elite $100+ Napa Valley Classic Cabs dating back to the early 1980s. Ric Forman’s has been shaping how we think about the valley’s Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay since the late 1960s as winemaker for Sterling Vineyards (1970s), Newton (early 1980s) and his eponymous winery founded in 1983.
Forman’s wines comfortably sit well among rank peers: Dalla Valle, Spottswood, Mondavi Res., BV George de la Tour, Beringer Private Res., Cafaro and Freemark Abbey and more.
Forman Vineyards is situated on Howell Mountain overlooking the town of St. Helena where he grows Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
