Look, we love the crisp minerality and vibrancy of Angèle Barat and the mind-blowing QPR (“quality-price-ratio”) of Poppy Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2020. One taste and you’ll love them both, too. But we’re absolutely inspired by the wines Andrea Franchetti created and his team continues to make on the black sand and rock volcanic soils on the north slope of Mount Etna in Sicily.

So join us this Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday from noon-4pm to sample our featured wines and three exciting bottles from Franchetti’s Passopisciaro. Including a $150 bottle we don’t have much of, but want you to try before it’s gone. Here's the line-up:

Dom Barat Chablis Village (M.J. Label) 2020 – Beautifully crisp, mineral and fresh Chardonnay from the limestone soils of Burgundy’s Chablis with no oak to get in the way of mouthwatering green fruit and salty stone flavors.

Poppy Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2020 – The multi-time blind tasting champ against much more expensive California Cabernets is better than ever in 2020. And, somehow, just $10.98/ea by the case.

Passopisciaro Passobianco Terre Siciliane 2019 - Andrea Franchetti arrived on Mt. Etna around 2000 and, strangely enough, thought, “Chardonnay would be good here.” One taste of this triple 91-point 1er Cru Chablis taste-alike and we think you’ll agree.

Passopisciaro Passorosso Terre Siciliane 2019 – Not an “Etna Rosso,” this is Norello Mascalese from 80-100+ year-old vines growing in some of Etna’s finest vineyards (including nearly half from Guardiola). Breathtakingly delicious with a definite savory edge.

Passopisciaro Franchetti 2017 – “Visionary” often borders “just plain nuts,” which is what everyone thought when Andrea Franchetti planted Petit Verdot and Lazio’s obscure Cesanese d'Affile in the historic contrada Guardiola. The results astonish as you’ll taste in this 96+ point stunner. At $149.98, not overpriced in the world of luxury steak wine!

As always you’ll enjoy some treats from the cheese case with the wines and best six/12 bottle savings on a mix/match basis during the tasting. Join us!
