Local Event
Cost: $25
If you are a wine lover looking for the latest undiscovered gems from South America, we invite you to explore and sample what Uruguay has to offer! Ticket includes access to taste 15 wines from Uruguay (many of which will have their winemaker present!) accompanied by a delicious selection of light appetizers from Estancia's esteemed kitchen. Award-winning wine journalist Amanda Barnes, author of the newly-released The South America Wine Guide, will be available to answer any questions as you explore these unique offerings.
Uruguay is on the brink of a wine revolution. From a small corner of South America, Uruguayan wines are rich in complex flavors and offer a unique heritage and winemaking style. A collection of local winemaking families as well as international investment and interest has brought this small country from its Basque/Italian immigrant roots into the 21st century. Tannat is still the red wine king here, but Albariño and other unique varieties like Marselan have taken hold as Uruguayan winemakers explore the possibilities of taste and terroir.
Space is limited for this intimate tasting, advance ticket purchase required.
In line with New York City COVID guidelines, proof of vaccination will be required for entry and checked at the door. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 we ask that you do not attend.
