Swing Music Performance, Drinks & BBQ: Stars & Stripes Celebration Dinner 2023

Join us for an unforgettable fall fundraiser at the first annual Stars and Stripes Celebration Dinner on Sunday, October 8, 2023, to benefit our local veterans history museum, the Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum! This will be the museum's very first fall fundraiser, and a celebration of their 21 years dedicated to veterans, history, preservation, education and community!

Get ready to tap your feet to a wonderful music performance by the talented Royal Garden Swing Orchestra, and enjoy a dance performance by the Cal Poly Ballroom Dance Team! Whether you're a seasoned swing dancer or simply want to soak up the lively ambiance, this event promises to be a dinner to remember.

Indulge in appetizers catered by SLO's Finest Catering and Commissary, and a mouth watering BBQ dinner grilled onsite by Gold Land BBQ (veteran owned with store front restaurant in the SLO Creamery).

The event will host a raffle basket and silent auction fundraiser, with plenty of opportunities to take home some amazing prizes (gift cards, product, and experiences). All donations and proceeds from this event will support keeping museum programs, events and veterans services free to veterans and our community. The 21 Year Anniversary Campaign proceeds will also support the development of new museum initiatives including education and outreach programs focused on veterans, seniors and youth. This will also support the museum's goals to work towards their first paid position in coming years, which will be a game changer for the museum after 21 years running solely by volunteer support. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event $20 per sheet.

A WWII exhibit will be setup and during social hour, a slideshow showcasing historic USO's located throughout San Luis Obispo during the WWII era. We encourage you to dress in USO/WWII era attire, not missing the opportunity to attend in style if you desire, though not required.

This fall fundraiser dinner will take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Veterans Memorial Building (SLO Vets Hall) located, 801 Grand Avenue, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
