Celebrate Earth Day with a spring garden tour and tea tasting inspired by historical herbal teas.

Celebrate spring with a special tour spotlighting our historical garden then enjoy a historically-inspired tea tasting inspired by what might have been served to guests of the Mount Vernon Hotel.

Join us to learn about our garden, designed by renowned landscape architect Alice Recknagel Ireys, and the many varieties of plants in our urban garden oasis, which was the recipient of a 2025 Garden Club of America Zone Historic Preservation Commendation for Zone III.

This tour is timed to enjoy maximum colors and fragrances in the garden, including crab apple trees, a cherry tree, viburnum, lilacs, and over 500 bulbs.

As we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Mount Vernon Hotel, we are offering a series of historically-inspired tea tastings to help visitors step back in time and immerse themselves in the Mount Vernon Hotel's period. This event, held in our historic Tavern, will feature a selection of herbal teas inspired by what would have been served in the 1820s; light refreshments will be served.

Treat yourself to this special peek into our beautiful garden followed by tea and snacks. [A minimum of five guests is needed for this event to proceed and attendance is capped at eight people.]
