Until the Dutch drained the Medoc in the late 1600s and the Bordelais did some tricky things to block their exports, the wines of France’s southwestern regions dominated exports to England and beyond. Today, they remain distinctive, delicious and – because still unknown – fabulous values! Come taste them for yourself on Saturday, October 5, from noon-4pm and we know you’ll agree. No fee, no RSVP – just come and explore with us.
All of the 15 wines on tasting were discovered and imported by Ed Addiss and Barbara Selig, the founders of Falls Church-based Wine Traditions. To say Ed has a passion for these wines understates things quite a bit – in a fit of insanity (as he freely admits), he and Barbara started Wine Traditions to bring the wines of the southwest to American wine fans! And while the portfolio has broadened to include Burgundy, Bordeaux, and more, Ed continues to offer the most compelling assortment of southwester French wines we know of.
Here's what Ed and his team will be pouring on Saturday, October 5, from noon-4pm:
Every wine on tasting will capture your attention and the special tasting discounts will make you smile, too. No fee and no need to RSVP for this tasting of some of France’s most exciting (if still little known) wines with Ed and his team. Don’t miss it!
