Local Event
Explore the world of European wine as we delve into French and Italian wines! Taste and compare 5 varieties of each, and learn how different regional climates and winemaking techniques produce different wines. Which will come out on top?
France’s Rhône Valley has a moderate Continental climate to the north and a warm Mediterranean climate to the south. Northern Rhône’s landscape is dominated by steep slopes producing grapes with powerful aromatics, bright fruit, and freshness. The Southern Rhône has flatter terrain with stony soils producing fuller-bodied wine with textural richness.
Central Italy has a warm Mediterranean climate, cooled by ocean breezes. Higher elevation vineyards produce grapes with more flavor complexity and higher levels of acidity and tannins. Explore each region in depth and compare and contrast ten different wines.
Our special guests include Ed Thompkins from Wines LLC and Michelle Brady from Bottle To Glass, who will facilitate as your tasting tour guides. Plus, you will enjoy a spread of cheese, crackers, bread, grapes, nuts and jams to enhance your tasting experience!
