On Thursday, June 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts a specially themed Gold Palette ArtWalk in correlation with the City of Scottsdale’s June Days summer spectacular, which celebrates the season and honors the city’s 70th anniversary.

The event takes place throughout the Scottsdale Arts District — along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north of Indian School on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue — and features refreshments and live entertainment designed to celebrate summer in Arizona while inspiring a vacation vibe.

“We’re excited to share in the fun of June Days with the City of Scottsdale and present yet another fun opportunity for our art-loving community to support the local art scene,” says Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson. “With some great music and delicious refreshments to cool things down on a beautiful Scottsdale evening — what more could you ask for?”

One of eight annual Gold Palette ArtWalks hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association with participation of member art studios and galleries, the June Days ArtWalk will be set to the tunes of a live steel drum band. Participating galleries will present special exhibits that pay homage to an Arizona summer and offer refreshing sips to keep guests cool.

Participating galleries with themed exhibits and refreshments include:

Amery Bohling Fine Art Gallery

7100 East Main Street, Suite A

Art enthusiasts are invited to peruse Amery’s latest paintings highlighting the glory of the Grand Canyon, watch a live painting demonstration and enjoy refreshing libations.

Bonner David Galleries

7040 East Main Street

During this special ArtWalk, the gallery will celebrate artist Dyana Hesson’s feature and cover story in Arizona Highways’ June issue, which highlights her “Wildflowers of the White Mountains” works. Hesson will be in attendance to meet and greet with guests and sign free copies of the magazine (while supplies last).

Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery

7100 East Main Street, Suite B

In celebration of June Days and the re-opening of the Gallery in its new location, Carstens is featuring the sounds of professional harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer for guests to enjoy while viewing live demonstrations.

French Designer Jeweler

7148 East Main Street

French Designer Jeweler hosts an exclusive pop-up artists’ trunk show featuring renowned local jeweler Julie Romanenko (aka Just Jules) who will be onsite to mingle with guests. Romanenko’s custom jewelry reflects her passion and her ability to showcase family, special occasions, celebrations and moments of history through each unique piece.

King Galleries

7077 East Main Street, Suite 20

All month long, King Galleries features its Modernly Ancestral exhibit featuring Acoma Pueblo pottery from 1960 to the present and highlighting historic and contemporary works by Juana Leno, Anita Lowden, Lucy Lewis, Robert Patricio, Frederica Antonio and others.

On the Edge Gallery

7077 E. Main Street

Guests can enjoy meeting and mingling with three popular artists — Scott Palmer, who specializes in copper work; photographer Lorita Winfield, who presents an “unfamiliar beauty” of the drama of the desert through her art; and Robin Ray, who specializes in ceramics with striking color, simple shapes and repetitive patterns that create energy in her pieces.

Wilde Meyer Gallery

4142 North Marshall Way

Coinciding with June Days ArtWalk, the Gallery’s Arizona Art Affair group show takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and features some of Arizona’s most talented artists such as Ryan Hale, Andrea Peterson, Timothy Chapman, Sherri Belassen, Nancy Pendleton, Ka Fisher and more.

The Gold Palette ArtWalk brings together the finest art in Scottsdale including 28 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. The Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts its weekly ArtWalk most every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In partnership with the City of Scottsdale, the SGA also presents eight Gold Palette ArtWalk events per year that feature a dedicated theme and activities including demonstrations and more.
