A trio of terrific Austrian Rieslings will be on the tasting table both this weekend! On Friday we’ll also pour a zesty rosé and bold and earthy Sangiovese.
Tegernseerhof Riesling Ried Pfaffenberg 2020 - Pretty much the essence of stony/steely Austrian Riesling with a touch of peach, loads of lime and a zesty, chalky, finish.
Tegernseerhof Riesling Loibenberg Smaragd 2019 - A more ripe and generous Riesling, but with fabulous intensity, salty minerality and cut that earned it a 94 point rave from Wine Advocate.
Tegernseerhof Riesling Loibenberg 2006 - We often talk about how well Riesling ages, and this late release 2006 shows you why. Gaining mellow notes of spice and ripe peach, even in this warmer vintage there's vibrancy and intensity to burn. Very limited.
Dom Laurens Rosé Comme un Dimanche Sous Un Cerisier 2021 – the family slogan for this vibrant Grenache/Cinsault wine captures it nicely: “A good sunny Sunday, let's drink with a glass of rosé, lying in the shade of a cherry tree, and let yourself be won over by a gentle shiver of idleness."
Lorenzo Sassetti Montecucco La Querciolina 2018 - As Vinous says in their 91 point write-up, "There’s something dark, animalistic and wild" going on in this gutsy Sangiovese from vines just west of Montalcino.
As always, we’ll have some treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines and best savings prices available on a mix/match basis. Join us !
