Local Event
Barone Ricasoli, the birthplace of Chianti Classico, has been a name synonymous with Italian wine since 1141. Thirty-two generations of Ricasoli’s have helped Castello di Brolio transform into three thousand acres of biodiversity. Rolling hills, grape vines, olive trees, wildlife and the people in the community of Gaiole in Chianti all living together in perfect harmony. Francesco Ricasoli, current owner and President of the company has generated new ideas and concepts to render the vineyards sustainable. The ongoing study of soil types and the clonal selection of the Brolio Sangiovese are among his greatest passions. The new wines are therefore the expression of research carried out with the same scientific rigor of his illustrious ancestors but with a contemporary spirit.
Join us as we welcome Courtney Schaub, a member of the Ricasoli team as our guest speaker. She will guide us through a tasting of 4 exceptional wines, paired perfectly with a meal crafted by our culinary team.
Courtney is a native of Maryland and a former banker. She found her passion for wine and Italy almost 10 years ago. She is WSET Level 3 Certified and proud to call Italy home for the past 3 years. When she is not leading a wine tasting, she is discovering Italy, one glass of wine at a time.
