Phoenix City Grille announces its exclusive NULU private single-barrel pairing dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The five-course pairing dinner is in collaboration with Barrels for Good and their “A Peach of the Pick” barrel and will be emceed by Chase Hazelbaker of NULU.
PCG’s Chef Micah Wyzlic will present the following menu for the occasion; each dish will be paired with the single barrel pour as noted:
Welcome Cocktail — New Louisville featuring PCG NULU Straight Bourbon Whiskey Single Barrel with muddled blackberries, fresh lemon juice, lime, orgeat, cinnamon bark syrup, ginger and cherry bitters
First Course — Local Beet Salad featuring citrus-roasted beets, Crow’s Dairy goat cheese, basil oil, strawberries, local pistachios and Queen Creek Olive Mill strawberry balsamic paired with PCG Single Barrel Toasted Oak NULU
Second Course — Corey’s 7-Day Cured Pork Belly with apple butter, braised red cabbage, mustard “caviar” and crispy shallots paired with PCG Single Barrel French Oak Experimental NULU
Third Course — Smoked Pork Loin with peach NULU barbecue sauce, butternut squash and brussels sauté and carrot, beet and cashew slaw paired with Barrels For Good Collaboration Peach Brandy finished NULU
Fourth Course — Copperstate Rancher’s Reserve Strip Loin with southwest dauphinois sweet potatoes, asparagus and wild mushroom relish and cherry bordelaise paired with PCG Single Barrel 8 Year (MGP Sourced) NULU
Fifth Course — Canela Buttermilk Doughnut with whiskey chocolate glaze, Arizona-spiced pecans, bourbon apple crisp gelato and fresh berries paired with PCG Single Barrel Double Oaked Bourbon
Cost is $160 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner and bottles sold during the evening will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Heart Center. Guests will also have the opportunity to have their purchased bottles autographed.
