The team at Bacchus – A Bartolotta Restaurant is very excited to host our first wine dinner since reopening. We will be highlighting one of Napa Valley’s finest winery – Joseph Phelps Vineyards. Learn how the winemaking team at Joseph Phelps Vineyards went from running one of the largest construction companies in the United States to becoming one of Napa Valley’s premier winemakers.
Opus One. Dominus. Dalla Valle’s Maya. A small group of Cabernet Sauvignon blends dominate Napa’s highest tier, and Insignia from Joseph Phelps was the first of them. Insignia, whose first vintage was in 1974, is one of the original icon wines of California’s modern era. It’s also Napa’s original Bordeaux-style blend carrying a proprietary name. Today, Insignia remains one of the valley’s, and some say the world’s, finest collectible wines.
Chris St. Marie, National Sales Manager of Joseph Phelps, joins us for the evening and will explain how the vineyard has been making notable wines since their first harvest.
