Local Event Premier Host
We’re going all fancy-pants on the tasting table this weekend with three stunning white Burgundy Chardonnays from Domaine Thibert in the heart of Pouilly-Fuisse and a big, rich, powerhouse Cabernet Sauvignon from the famed Stags Leap district in Napa. Join us from 3-7pm on Friday and noon-4pm on Saturday to sample:
Dom Thibert Macon-Prisse En Chailloux 2020 – As Wine Advocate says in their 90 point review, “Unfurls in the glass with scents of pastry cream, crisp green apple, pear, white flowers and nutmeg. Satiny and precise, with lively aids and a bright, fine-boned profile, it's a compelling effort."
Dom Thibert Pouilly-Fuisse Heritage 2020 – A Burghound 90-93 point “Sweet Spot Outstanding” Chardonnay with plenty of ripe fruit and a savory hazelnut and stony mineral core. As Burghound writes, “This is rich but it is essentially a wine of finesse.”
Dom Thibert Pouilly-Fuisse 1er Cru Vers Cras 2020 – From the first vintage of Pouilly’s new 1er Cru designation, this is intensely structured and noticeably powerful. Plenty of focus at first before unfurling with air before ending, as Burghound says, with “huge length on the borderline painful finish.”
Dom d'Ourea Vacqueyras 2021 – A wonderfully “atypical” southern Rhone red value that’s loaded with ripe and juicy flavors and is dangerously easy to drink. An excellent match for crisp autumn nights and cookouts and stylish enough for classy parties, too.
Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap 2019 – At once Napa’s smallest appellation and one of its most famous, Stags Leap gives wines of remarkable richness, plushness and breadth. As Wine Enthusiast writes in their 95 point review, “This wine substantially overdelivers on its price point,” especially while it’s on Sale: here!
As usual we’ll have some treats from the cheese case out to sample with the wines both days and you’ll enjoy our lowest six/12 bottle discounts on a mix/match basis during the tastings. Join us!
