Traditionally, this label has been associated with cheaper, overproduce table wines. However, with the natural wine movement taking hold in this historically rebellious country, many prestigious and well-respected winemakers are choosing to make high-quality natural wines in hyper-traditional, often ancient methods using the VDF label. These top-tier wines are selling at higher prices than any VDFs France has seen in the past, and it is shaking up what makes a good French wine.
