Italian Sauces and Stews
Description: Regional dishes are point of pride across the globe, and Italy is no exception. Join us in exploring the unique ingredients, flavors, and pastas used to make the signature sauces all across this beautiful country… minus the jet lag.
What You’ll Learn: We’ll take a deep dive in the culinary history behind each dish, discussing the significance of both eating seasonally and simplicity. First we head to Genoa for a bright Basil Lemon Pesto, then to Bologna for a rich and hearty Bolognese. Learn the secret to a silky Carbonara sauce almost as good as on straight from Rome. Finally, try your hand with cutting and shaping your own fresh pasta to serve up with our sauces.
Our Mission: Let our cooking classes inspire you. Work with our chef/instructor to learn how to prepare delicious recipes, hone essential techniques, and put some "heart" back into cooking. All levels of experience welcome! We offer private classes, private parties, and a bounty of niche gourmet food and beverage products! Whenever possible we utilize HAM SWEET FARM located in Williamston, MI, a short drive from the capital of Lansing. They offer a variety of products, including the lamb and poultry raised on their farm, as well as meat from other partner farms and fisheries.
