The Huron Lions Club is sponsoring a fun and tasty adventure on Saturday, May 21. This Huron Lions Wine Tasting Poker Run will include visits to six awesome north central Ohio wineries. Participants will travel to each winery where they can spend time tasting the wares and enjoying the unique ambiance of each location. Participants will receive a poker chip and each location, which they will exchange for a hand of poker cards at the final destination, and cash prizes will be awarded to those who hold the best hands. First and second prizes will be awarded in both a men’s and a women’s division. Winners will be determined based upon established poker hand rankings. No poker experience is needed.
The Poker Run will start at the Paper Moon Winery in Vermillion. Participants will meet there between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Then, in any order, they will travel to the following wineries: Vermilion Valley Vineyard, Vermilion; Matus Winery, Vermilion; Quarry Hill Wine Company, Berlin Heights; and Wakeman Elevator Craft Beer and Wine Bar, Wakeman. Between 5:30 and 6:00 pm, participants will meet at the final destination, D & D Smith Winery, Norwalk, where poker hands will be given out, prizes will be awarded, and dinner will be provided.
