Ceremonial cacao is the highest quality of chocolate in its purest form. The use of cacao in rituals and ceremony is thousands of years old. Ceremonial grade cacao is a plant medicine that stimulates the cardiovascular system, opens your heart center, and is a powerful tool for tapping into your creativity. It also contains many nutrients and neurotransmitters that benefit both your body and mind.
Our ceremony will start with a cup of cacao. As you sip your cacao you’ll learn about the history and the benefits of this plant medicine. You will be guided through a heart opening meditation followed by several journal prompts, an all level yoga practice, and relaxation with live sound.
Bring a yoga mat and water. You are also welcome to bring blocks, a blanket, meditation cushion, eye pillow, a journal, something to write with, and a snack if you would like.
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Dress in layers in case you get too hot or cold.
Drink plenty of water leading up to the ceremony. It is best if you don’t have an empty stomach but you also don’t want a full stomach. Somewhere in the middle is best :)
Please note that because cacao contains serotonin re-uptake inhibitors, if you are taking certain antidepressants with selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRI’s) or a serotonin supplement which contains SSRI’s it could overload your system which would likely lead to a headache.
If you are pregnant please use your best judgement.
Let Megan know if you have any food allergies before you sign up. She will likely use almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk, cacao, cinnamon, and maple syrup.
