TASTE THE LEGACY!! Wines in this special tasting:
Mike Grgich was originally sought after for his Cabernet Sauvignon winemaking expertise and was the winemaker of the 1969 Cabernet Sauvignon that put Robert Mondavi on the map. It was several years later when Mike gained international recognition at the celebrated "Paris Tasting" of 1976 in which a panel of eminent French judges swirled, sniffed, and sipped an array of renowned wines of France and a small sampling of upstarts from the Napa Valley. When the results were in, the French judges were shocked: they had chosen Mike’s 1973 Cth Montelena Chardonnay as the finest white wine in the world! The results stunned the international wine establishment and immediately earned Mike Grgich a reputation as one of the greatest winemakers in the world.
