Delicious values to very high-end, famous estate, Barolo and a spritz in a can so good we can only say “It’s Bizzaro!” That’s what you’ll experience when you come by this Saturday from noon-4pm. Here’s the line-up:
Cantina del Rimedio Vermentino Sardenia Benas 2024 - Vermentino di Sardegna belongs in the sipping rotation of anyone who loves Sauvignon Blanc/Sancerre, Albarino, Grüner Veltliner, Soave, Rueda Verdejo – pretty much any light, citrusy, fresh white full of fruit and personality. This one's especially good.
Dom Les 5wy Arbois Blanc (Savagnin) Prelude 2022 – Among the many reasons to come to our wine dinners at La Cote d’Or is the chance to try wines like this – 100% Savagnin from Jura that’s loaded with texture and flavor and sings with food. Rare and worth a trip to try.
Andeluna Malbec Uco Valley Raices 2025 – An enormous amount of wine for the money here, in 100% Malbec grown carefully at high altitude and then made in steel to let the grape and place shine through. Terrific cookout red value.
Paolo Scavino Barolo Ravera 2022 – One for the cellar but, also, fascinating to taste today! Rich and intense but with fine purity and a long, long, LONG, finish!
Bizzarro Spritz 250ml - A compelling blend of Bizzarro Aperativo - kind of like an Austrailian Amaro - with white wine and selzer. Supremely flavorful, not at all too sweet, and nicely biting on the zippy finish. A great spritz was never so easy!
With the wines a delicious rarity: Parish Hill Creamery Humble, made only in the fall and now just about done for the year. It's a raw cow's milk Tomme with a cider-washed rind that is creamy, mellow young and a bit funkier with more age - like now. A bit of funky cheese to go with a fun and funky wine line-up. Great match!
