Antica Terra Ceras Pinot Noir 2017 Willamette Valley Oregon
James Suckling 97 Rating
A very detailed nose with aromas that include savory stones, woody spices and sweet tobacco, together with hints of chocolate, earthy nuances and abundant, pure red cherries and blueberries. The palate is full of light and energy, the ripeness of this vintage delivering a very complete and full shape. The core of the wine has succulent, red-cherry flavor that blooms in expressive mode. Velvety resolve.
“Let me tell you, this is perhaps the best Pinot Noir in the USA” MS
Aubert 2013 UV-SL Vineyard Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
The 2013 Pinot Noir UV-SL, primarily made from Calera and Vosne-Romanée clonal material, boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of blackcurrants, black cherries, forest floor and beet root. The complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, intensely concentrated, pure, seamlessly constructed red that should drink well for 10-15+ years.
Beaux Frères 2018 “Beaux Frères Vineyard” Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
Layered with red cherry candy, the 2018 Pinot Noir The Beaux Freres Vineyard unfolds with crushed roses, cedar, and five-spice. The palate has wonderful concentration and energy, with cranberry, tea leaf, and spice. This is an incredible wine that delivers balance and purity.
Cristom 2017 “Jessie Vineyard” Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir Oregon
James Suckling 97 Rating
A very distinctive nose with a wild array of red berries and cherries and a thread of blue fruit, too. There’s a dried wild-rose perfume and a violet-like thread with subtle, herbal-based notes. It’s a moving target in the glass with incredible complexity. This has a gift of revelation. The palate has a very assertive edge with a powerful core of intense tannins that carry a spicy thread of rich dark cherries and dark plums in a defined, savory and athletic stance. A star of the vintage.
Domaine Della 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands California
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
Located south of Monterey, the Santa Lucia Highlands is a great AVA that produces an amazing amount of outstanding Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrahs. Starting with the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands, it comes all from the Soberanes Vineyard (in the relative center/southern end of the appellation) and spent 15 months in 47% new French oak. This beautiful, elegant, complex wine displays the fruit-loaded style of the appellation yet stays balanced, nicely textured, and even elegant. Black cherries, black raspberries, leafy herbs, a touch of flowers, and some earthy/forest floor notes all emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with a soft, supple texture, again, terrific balance, and a great finish. It’s slightly less expensive than the single vineyard, but I think it’s just as good.
