The Rhône Valley is often referred to as the wine lover’s secret weapon because, when you are thoroughly shocked by the Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Napa Cabernet prices on a wine list, you quickly turn to the Rhône section in search of relief, rich flavor, and shelter from the giant check. That isn’t quite as true today as it used to be since the prices of the great wines of this region have slowly crept up to match market conditions.
We still believe the Rhône Valley delivers some of the best wines for a modest price and hope to further that point with this tasting. We love the Rhône. Nowhere does Grenache, Syrah or Mourvèdre shine quite like they do from this region. There are lovely wines made from these grapes in many places throughout the world, but the flavors of the soil, the talent of the winemaker, and the beauty of the climate rarely shine through as clearly as they do in the Rhône. Here is a selection of wines from various producers, different blends and vintages that illuminate the magic of this special valley.
The featured flight wines will be served as two-ounce pours and 5-ounce glasses.
The bottles will be available for retail sale while supplies last.
